Yes I’ve got dried cat poop on the carpet, and no matter how hard I try, it won’t come off. Any suggestions to get it off, besides cutting it out?

try blotting it with some vinager as soon as it starts to get soft then scrape as much up as you can keep blotting with the vinager it will also take care of the smell also.you will get it up not to worry.
As much as i laughed at the cat dipped in ammonia answer I would opt for the other one using vinager to soften it up than shampoo the rug and next time furball poops if you catch it in the act rub his/her nose in it.
Scrub it with the cat dipped in ammonia.
go rent the steam cleaner at your local grocery store.
As disgusting as it sounds, and if you’re against cutting it out, it sounds like wetting it down may be your only solution. Go with the white vinegar suggestion — it’ll help mask the odor you’re bound to create. It will also not interfere with any cleaning product you’ll be using in the next step. I would pour it down UNDER the poop so that you loosen it from below so you can lift it UP - and keep as much of it solid as possible (versus having a puddle of mushy poop) Kinda of gross talk, but I’ve never had this problem — but common sense says to rehydrate it to get it out of the carpeting. Like backtracking.
Use Resolve or actually Nature’s Miracle, found at pet stores.
